I’ve listened for a number of years to conservative talk radio programs and admire, for the most part, the sharp analysis, clear communications and effective newscasting. The concern I have with most of the current conservative radio talk shows is the focus on expediency over principles. As I write, the Super Tuesday primaries 08' are being decided. Much is at stake; however, what I see more and more clearly is the moral deterioration that presents itself in an electorate willing to sacrifice foundational principles in an effort to have their party win.
As a nation, we do not hold ourselves accountable to Biblical and constitutional precepts and constraints. Our desire to be “winners”, choosing “the lesser of two evils” and willing to compromise in order to get our foot in the political arena is morally unjustifiable and socially reprehensible. Our national sovereignty is predicated on the individual who accepts the Creator’s original intent and design for us individually and corporately. Our strength is based on our attachment to His Truth. Why are we willing to accept any individual or institution that will move farther and farther from Scriptural and constitutional principles both from a platform as well as behavioral standard?
Endorsing either the Democratic or Republican party as one that will lead this nation on a course blessed by GOD is ludicrous. What if our party of choice doesn’t win, or worse yet, “has no hope of winning”? I firmly believe, and act accordingly, that the only wasted vote is one that is not based on principle. I believe if we continue to embrace the political strategy of incrementalism, our national sovereignty will be lost and we will succumb to a position of international dependency. I’m heart sick, but not hopeless, for my hope is not in this world, nor am I dependent on this or any other nation for my continued sustenance.
I have never corresponded with any talk show nor created any blogs; however, my desire to communicate Truth, my concern for my fellow citizens and a burning desire to take an active part within the process and hopefully be a constructive and reasonable voice got the better of me. Talk radio has been granted tremendous power and most in this industry are gifted communicators. May GOD endow these voices with a transcendent measure of knowledge, understanding and wisdom to be communicated through the media in which He has entrusted them.
